报告主题：Functionalization of chitosan and precise synthesis of well-defined dendrimer-like, bottlebrush-like and star-like polymers

报告主要内容：

i)natural polymer of chitosan was functionalized and was used as heterogeneous catalysts for Heck, asymmetric aldol and Henry reactions;

ii) well-defined dendrimer-like polymers were synthesized via anionic polymerization and their clear and precise architectures provided possibility to study the “dendrimer effect”;

iii) the precise polyethylene-based materials were rationally designed and synthesized by combining polyhomologation, i.e, living polymerization of ylide initiated by an alkyl borane, with other proper living  polymerizations;

iv) star-like amphiphilic block copolymers were synthesized and was developed as templates for the nanoparticle synthesis.

报告人简介：

Dr. Hefeng Zhang received his Ph.D degree from Prof. Junpo He’s group in Fudan University in 2012 and then worked with Prof. Nikos Hadjichristidis as a postdoc at King Abdullah University of Science and Technology in Saudi Arabia from 2012 to 2015. At moment, he is doing research in Prof. Zhiqun Lin’s group at Georgia Institute of Technology in U.S. Dr. Zhang has experiences on natural polymer functionalization, design and synthesis of well-defined polymers and polymer templated nanomaterial synthesis, as well as their properties and applications in catalysis, energy conversion and storage, etc. He has published 17 papers in peer-reviewed journals such as Macromolecules, Chemical Communication and Polymer Chemistry, etc.
